CYCLOPS AUTUMN SCHOOL
CyclOps Autumn School
The CyclOps Autumn School will take place online on 15–16 October 2026.
What is the Autumn School about?
The CyclOps Autumn School on Knowledge-based Systems explores key concepts and approaches related to Knowledge Graphs, Virtual Knowledge Graphs, ontologies, data mappings, embeddings, Transformers, LoRA, and Large Language Models (LLMs). The programme combines theoretical foundations with demos and hands-on sessions, covering both structured and unstructured data.

Content and objective
The programme combines theoretical foundations and practical applications. Participants will be introduced to Knowledge Graphs and Virtual Knowledge Graphs, including ontologies and data mappings, and will explore embeddings and their connection to Knowledge Graphs. The programme also covers Transformers and LoRA, as well as the use of LLMs for ontology-driven and ontology-guided information extraction, concluding with a session on trustworthy systems.

The three programme areas
- The Theoretical Foundations – Introduction to Knowledge Graphs and Virtual Knowledge Graphs for data access, with a focus on ontologies and data mappings.
- From Theory to Action – Demos and hands-on sessions with Ontopic Suite and openEO + SPARQL, alongside an introduction to embeddings and their connection to Knowledge Graphs.
- Knowledge from the Unstructured – Transformers and LoRA, LLMs for ontology-driven information extraction, ontology-guided information and extraction pipelines.
