Finding the right AI tool shouldn’t feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Whether you are a data expert or just getting started, CeADAR, Ireland’s Centre for AI, is making that process simpler and smarter with a new recommendation system developed as part of the EU-funded CyclOps project. The so-called AI Marketplace service goes one step further than existing tools by automatically combining semantic reasoning with algorithmic metadata and user intent to facilitate a complex task in AI development: selecting the right algorithm to train the AI model. Unlike traditional model selection tools that rely on static benchmarks or manual filtering, CeADAR’s AI Marketplace dynamically and seamlessly adapts to the context of the data and the user’s goals, improving the relevance and accuracy of recommendations.

The AI Marketplace service leverages structured information about algorithms, such as their type (e.g., classification or regression tasks), applicable data formats (e.g., satellite imagery or tabular data), and performance assumptions, to offer a ranked list of suitable candidates. It integrates user input, dataset metadata, and semantic matching to guide users toward AI models that have previously performed well in similar contexts, reducing the trial-and-error phase in AI development.

CeADAR’s AI Marketplace CyclOps component

Our service is designed with real-world interoperability in mind. It supports algorithms sourced from both open-source initiatives and internal libraries and extends functionality to include non-machine learning tasks like search strategies and model optimisation. Current development efforts are focused on testing and validating the AI Marketplace in various domains, including tourism, the Green Deal, public procurement, and manufacturing.

Providing a bridge between raw data and the right models for a given application, CeADAR’s recommendation service helps data scientists and business owners focus on insights, not just infrastructure or code. CyclOps makes algorithm selection faster, smarter, and more useful, tailored to every dataset and user need.
